Driving responsible action for a sustainable future
Taguss is consistently committed to the sustainable protection of the planet’s resources and the continuous reduction of its CO₂ footprint. A dedicated team is responsible for the research, development and implementation of sustainability initiatives across the organisation. In this role, it also serves as a key link between suppliers, the company and its customers.
Our entire internal supply chain is fully integrated, enabling us to provide sustainable value creation from a single source.

Reduction
Reducing resource consumption in the production of our products is a top priority and a key driver of genuine sustainability.
By redesigning existing components, we enable immediate weight reduction for our customers, resulting in savings in materials, energy and costs. Our design proposals are supported by comprehensive simulations.
To ensure optimal use of both electric and fossil energy, we invest continuously in our systems, achieving market-leading efficiency in melting and heating processes.
Smart reuse of resources
Material recycling, system retrofitting and equipment repair are approaches often overlooked in today’s throwaway culture. Nevertheless, Taguss actively implements sustainable practices and continuously develops new methods to preserve resources.
Wherever feasible, packaging used in internal and external logistics is replaced with reusable solutions.
Both internally and externally, we prioritise the recycling of all materials we use, thereby minimising waste and environmental impact. Materials such as chips, sand, minerals, plastics and wood are given a new life.
Waste avoidance
Too much of everything?
Overcapacity or surplus material?
Recycling is a key aspect of sustainability. However, we go beyond recycling by focusing on avoidance — reducing unused capacity and unnecessary consumption of materials and energy.
Average machine tool utilisation across industries stands at around 35%, indicating significant overcapacity with nearly three times the required number of machines installed. To mitigate this, we implement optimised and synchronised production planning within our internal supply chain.
We analyse material and energy usage at component and department level to identify improvement opportunities. Any anomalies are quickly addressed, enabling our teams to reduce resource consumption effectively.
Effective implementation
Analyse, define and implement – the foundation of our sustainability approach, with our employees engaged from day one.
- Training
We keep our employees up to date with the latest technical and legal developments through regular internal and external training. - Teamwork
Sustainability across our organisation is interconnected, making collaboration and knowledge sharing essential. This enables us to identify synergies, evaluate them effectively and implement solutions together.
